Pep has had it easy once I remember in the 17/18 season. 18/19 city won it by a point. 19/20 Liverpool won it. 20/21 city were 7th at December. 21/22 city won it on final day from Liverpool. 22/23 Arsenal led for most of the season, 23/24 went to the final day. For me, it's lazy punditry from Gary. Nicholas Jackson has scored 5 goals and 3 assists in 8 games this season yet all we hear about is this "world class striker" shout. In all honesty - Neville should NOT do commentary on Liverpool as he simply cannot hide his bias. Carragher does a better job at hiding his but neither of them should comment on their “rival” clubs or their own clubs for that matter. Today I listened to the commentators for first half, muted the second half. Neville is so emotional that he spouts nonsense and he ends up embarrassing himself.

Slot also set Liverpool up really well, the team didn’t press recklessly and let Chelsea move the ball to Palmer / Madueke in space. They dropped off for the most part and then transitioning quickly into a low block. Chelsea really struggled to create in the final third. Chelsea got into decent spaces, but Liverpool were super confident in their defensive organisation

What Neville misses re Lavio and Caciedo is that they'd very possibly / probably already be better players if they'd gone to Liverpool, worked under Klopp and been incorporated into a machine that's competed for a LOT of honours in the last decade. Chelsea can't compare with that. Only city / Madrid can. That's why the Liverpool midfield still works above the sum of its individual parts and long will.
