Peoploids say these were 'down' years for Gary Numan, but I love all of his music. This video captures a certain 'sleezy-ness' of the '80's -- but in a good way (good times.)

Love it, I'll never understand the hate. The best thing about Numan was his ability to change musical direction without losing his authenticity or individuality.

Although Numan hates his own material from this period, songs like this fit very well into the obscure Italo revival of the 2000s.

This is actually a great performance by Gary. The mood and staging is very Numan. The eighties ladies make it kind of absurd. When T and A is used to sell something, it's very cliche and last ditch effort-ish, but I still love this song.

I don't mind this song it does grow on you eventually. It's far from his best though and I can totally see why certain fans hate it as it's nothing like Gary Numan he's so much more then standard 80's pop.

That's a Greengate DS:3, a sort of poor mans Fairlight. It was a set of cards for an Apple II, plus the keyboard you see.

George B i don't agree George. I think the 'song' is well structured and fits well into the style of italo electro that was doing the rounds in the 78-88 period. But yes, numan hates his stuff from this period.
