One should keep in mind,that after the huge+outstanding BERSERKER album of 1984, just one year later THE FURY was released !! And of course again there is a change of sound + so on ... But its a very good Numan album with some hits on it ... Luckily Ive had a great record store around in that days+ i still have an vinyl 12 in orange of that track !! Greatdays bck then ... Was Gary Numan's girlfriend, Tracey Adam, in the adult industry? I've long-wondered whether this line was perhaps a reflection of the adult film industry circa mid-80s, which would make some sense as, for example, Traci Lords was working underage in the industry at the time; and I guess those within the industry (like other actresses) may well have known that some of the girls weren't yet even in the 'barely legal' category.
