It's stupid politics man. Like so many in the media did not like Gary, that's part of the reason he's not in the HOF.

So is Barry Bonds. Bonds is 2 HOF players put together. But connections to Balco and being confrontational and not well liked is apparently enough to keep out the greatest player in history. Sheff is just another casualty of the era and similar to Bonds in how he's perceived by the biased and flawed writers.

So sad that Beltre & Mauer get in with nowhere near the number Sheff has, I really think it’s that one offseason he spent with Bonds that is keeping him out, guilty by association with zero proof of anything, numbers never spiked, head didn’t swell up like Bonds’ did, sadly today having the numbers isn’t enough if you’re thought of in the same circle as Barry. 😢

He's a very clear HOFer to me. I don't even know if the PED thing is what hurt him. I do think it is because no team really has a claim to him. He bounced around so much and no one seemed to want to keep him that long despite how great he was. That hurts an election bid. He easily should be in with his numbers, but that is my guess. Because the PED connections feel way shakier than guys that are already in (like Ortiz who had such a clear dividing line between okay to legendary and Bagwell who we all know used). Gary was the same hitter from beginning to end, no matter what position he played. There is hardly a RHH in the history of the game that was more feared.

It's time to remove the voting power from the writers and media. There's enough current living HOFs that are able to form a committee to vote.

like Sheffield, there so MANY other GREAT players who are NOT in the HOF/but should be, in my opinion, they are ...Keith Hernandez, Mark Grace, Bill Buckner, Pete Rose, Dave Parker, Steve Garvey, just to name a few...they waited for Ron Santo to die, to put him in. after decades of him trying to get in.

I just saw the newest hall of fame inductees and Gary is twice as good as anyone on that list Its an embarrassment to baseball and the hall of fame to omit sheffield Somebody really has it in for this guy Over 500 Homer's and a 292 career batting average and almost 2700 hits Ridiculous amount of bias against Gary

As the NFL which is the national pastime now, they have just recently selected Julian Peppers and Antonio Gates who actually tested positive for PEDs. In baseball, we have individuals who never tested positive and they are not elected/selected. Canelo will eventually be in the boxing hall of fame, Sharapova will be in the tennis hall of fame, and these individuals were suspended in their sports.

SHEFFIELD WRONGED, JOSH GIBSON NOT GETTING CALLED UP, SATCHEL PAIGE NOT GETTING A CHANCE TO PITCH AGAINST THE SO-CALLED BEST, JACKIE ROBINSON BEING TORMENTED WHEN HE DID PLAY, CURT FLOOD BEING OSTRACIZED, AND MANY OTHER DENIALS NOT MENTIONED BY A BOARD 0F MEMBERS WHO NEVER EVEN SWUNG A BAT. He had 6 of his 8 best seasons after he spent time working out with Barry Bonds. Those 6 seasons happened after the age of 30. Its not crazy he didn't get in nor is it a sham. Most players have had their numbers inflated from PEDs by 30% to 40%. I don't doubt he put in the work to as a PED will only help so much but I don't think he belongs in the Hall. He will likely get in from the veterans committee down the road. In my opinion just because you used Steroids doesn't exclude you from the Hall. Bonds, Clemens, Manny and A-Rod were all hall of fame bound before taking PEDs. Its the players like Palmerio, Piazza, Bagwell, and Sheffield that took PEDs and were not likely going to make it in without them that should remain excluded.

That is bull*hit. What does "working out with Barry Bonds" mean? I mean, you live on the same planet like Adolf H*tler used to. Can I consider you as a Na*i now? Barry Bonds had the best eyes in Baseball history. You can't get that with PEDs. And 6 seasons after 30... You know the word experience? I mean, I wouldn't have a chance against an MLB Pitcher. But when I see pitches every day for 10 years, I would hit 500% more HRs than today, without PEDs. That is the same bull*hit case like Pete Rose. And don't forget 94 and 95 were no full seasons. Of course the numbers are not there were they should be.

There is no concrete evidence without a doubt to make this claim. An allegation is not a conviction. That's not how the court of law works. The MLB had no problem ranking in Billions off of these players when they knew the league had a problem, but now they want to act like innocent protectors of the "integrity" of the sport. Give me a freaking break.

It’s a disgrace Gary isn’t I the HOF. I know there was talks of him and PED’s but ppl need to look into those talks. He was questioned about having knowledge of bonds taking PED’s and being a customer of Balco and buying vitamins (ZMA). Him along with countless other players were questioned but everyone assumes he did PED’s which isn’t true or fair. Writers are a joke. And she do some basic research

Gary admitted to using PEDs (the cream) but claims he did not know it was steroids. He paid for said cream with cash. BALCO was in California, he was not. Being a jerk does not help with people who vote believing him. As far as being a HOF player, if ALL players used steroids, then OK. But we can never know how many HRs he got off of pitchers not using. Or how many times he got a line drive by a player who didn't use. Sorry. Not a HOFr. HOF induction is based off of numbers, and his number were artificially inflated. 509 HR with steroids. 409 without? Really good, but not HOF.
