I have read the autobiography, "Grateful American" by Gary Sinise and he speaks of the very bench from Forrest Gump and he speaks about DAV and his other charities he sponsors through The Gary Sinise Foundation! Love this Man immensely and the fact that my Dad was a 30 year man in The USAF I can appreciate the sacrifices of The Soldiers AND The Families. Gary tirelessly helps The Veterans of ALL Generations. I was never in the service (Vietnam era and was not drafted) however I have NEVER been one to dishonor those who served. With that and seeing all the things Gary Sinise does for past and present members of the armed forces I am wondering why he has not received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. If anyone deserves that honor I feel Gary has more than earned his place

The travel alone is daunting enough, yet they all manage to be so upbeat, fun, and engaging throughout the shows. Gary and his band epitomize "serving those who serve"!

15th!!! My dad landed on Omaha beach on D-Day 2nd wave. His buddy stepped on a land mine next to him and died. My dad received shrap metal in the back and received a purple heart then went on to the battle of the bulge and received another purple heart. He did not like to talk about it but would watch shows like Combat on Sunday night. Thanks Mr. Sinise
