Can you imagine stumbling across this in 19 freakin 80? This, to me, is the best version. Just got done performing it with Gary in north Texas past April. He asked to do this version instead of our traditional. It was extremely fun and satisfying to play. Have to admit, this version, this recorded version, is so much more emotional for me and it was sort of hard to have to listen to a few times to just make sure I got the arrangement right. The rawness (and beauty) of the recording and the vocal delivery is so emotionally present and intense, with this weird sensibility of depth and sort of distraught. By the time it gets to "nothing matters anymore, all I do is sleep...pull the sheets over my head for relief" just sucks me in. I asked Gary about it and he acknowledged it was the more "electric" version for sure.

@@grottostar wonderful as always. played with him for, gosh, almost a decade on and off now. I'm part of his Texas Blind Dates. There is an incredibly well done live cassette of us with Gary in Dallas xmas 2015 that has just been released. He's been posting it on his page. avail on Pecan Crazy records and some other label. I would never boat about any recording im on but it really is GOOD and raw. Chromium Bitch sounds great on it
