I still Can't believe titles like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Gundam Battle Assault 3, Gundam Seed Never Ending Tommorow, Shadow the Hedgehog and Eureka Seven considered as some of the Worst game in PS2. Because they're some of my favorites. That's why i don't always agree with Metacritic. But still you put great effort on this list Gary. Great job ❤❤❤

Red Ninja has a worse control scheme than Tenchu, and Tenchu is already jank. I wouldn't say it's top 100 terrible, but it sure isn't good or above average at all.

So I I just turn 30 this year and start my putting time into my PS2 game collection which I had about 20 games that I still managed to hold on to over the years. I just repurchased Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 which sits at the top of Metacritic's list and thought it would be funny to pick up the lowest. Come to find out it happens to be a random game I've had since childhood that I've never even played lol.

This is why we do not have many different genre of video games in 2024 or at least a wide array of titles such as these average to semi-decent video games--- dev's and QA groups see these kind of subjective lists and don't want to make the next Parapa the Rapper or the Getaway for example. Metacritic almost single handedly destroyed the niche video game market; people nowadays would rather watch TV, stream XXX material on the web, read a science-fiction novel or simply unplug by spending time outdoors.

For numbers 97 & 51, the PS2 era was essentially the final nail to 989 Sports' coffin, as their PS2 games suffered from the NFL GameDay 2001 curse (basically the opposite of the Madden curse), with their titles being rushed and done on a much smaller budget compared to EA's Sports offerings. 3:24 i can't believe dbZ infinite world has a rating this low cuz it's basically Budokai 3 but better. They removed dragon rush and the story mode i million times better with more cutscenes and things to do and the roster added GT characters too What were these journalists smoking back then ??

Looking at the other comments here, there appear to be quite a few of you DragonBall Z Infinite World fans who are wondering why it's on this list. Well, looking at the MetaCritic page www.metacritic.com/game/dragon-ball-z-infinite-world/ we can see several excerpts: GameDaily: (who scored it 40): If the lame "fetch" quests don't bore you, the ridiculously bad mini-games will. Buy one of the earlier releases (for half the price, if not cheaper) and leave this World behind. IGN (who scored it 35) - "The sound's repetitive, the graphics are shoddy, and the gameplay isn't fun. Do not play Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World." Game Revolution (who scored it 25): "There’s very little reason to pick up Dragonball Z: Infinite World. Even Dragonball fans will likely find that the only allure is the fighting, but if that’s the case, they’re better off popping back in Budokai 3 or anything that doesn’t force them to do side-chores."

@@GaryRetroGamer Trust me. This game is not even as half bad as they make it out to be. If they hate the gameplay of infinite world u might as well hate all the Budokai games. And the mini games in the world map are great side quests and challenges and they're not something u have to do like training mini games and open area platforming time trails I still don't understand the hate it got from journalists even tho the fans love it

Is Wariors of M&M really that bad? Wait, Battle Assault 3 is there too? I liked the Iron Man game when I was a kid. XD That Lowrider game reminds me of that San Andreas mission. Ghost Recon is here too? Okay, DW 6 was treated harshly. And Godzilla Unleashed. Not sure about Mummy 3. Wow, M&M spin offs were treated harshly on PS2.

I thought "Tetris Worlds" as an okay game. The problem was that they made the Tetris screen so small that it was hard to see it from a distance. They needed to make where the game takes up the entire middle of the screen. There was no good reason to make the game screen so small, Tetris on the Philips CD-i was better.

A part of their review: "The inability to drift still sucks, but now, there's no reason to attempt to legitimately progress through the game since you can avoid these races entirely, and rivals aren't challenging either." And then you look at the better ones and there's Tony Hawk's 3 at the top (fun game, but absolutely not one of the best ps2 titles ever) and Grand Turismo 3 better than 4, GTA III better than Vice City and San Andreas🙄

Some of the ones with the Metascore in the 40s are actually decent such as DBZ Infinite Worlds and Beat Down. Shadow the Hedgehog and Dynasty Warriors 6 are extremely polarizing games so your mileage may vary on those.
