It was a special time. Developers cared about putting love into their games....that and milking you for every quarter you had.

This list made me very nostalgic for 90s arcade games. We used to have an arcade near my house and I would spend hours there playing various fighting games. Thanks for making such a comprehensive list. I enjoyed watching it!

As always your videos are absolutely outstanding! Thank you so much for doing all the footwork for us who don't have the time but love the retro! The 10-second intervals between videos is perfect.👌Let's me skip ahead exactly to the next game if I'm already familiar or not interested.

Good work. 23 I knew of and 46 I'd like to try with around 6 or so I have on other consoles. I never even knew some of these games existed and I'm glad you did this vid so I can find it. Thank you.

Looks like 1994 was the year of "let's steal SFX from earlier games!" arcades.

I grabbed this Steamkey -- it's a crazy one: KILL IT WITH FIRE, an insect-smashing simulator from Casey Donnellan & tinyBuild. Seems hugely popular, with 96% positive ratings on Steam -- considering how creepy the bugs (and soundtrack) are, this game must be pretty awesome. Cheers, Gary!

Tremendous videos Gary. Will you be doing 1995 onwards? I've been searching for months for a particular game I used to play in the arcades and I think it was made somewhere in the mid 90s. All I remember is that it was 2 player, player 1 being a blue suited soldier and player 2 was an orange suited soldier, both with large shotguns that I think shot blue laser bullets. It was a side scroller game and just cannot remember the name. I know my explanation is a bit flaky, but any ideas???

Thanks! Yes, I will be continuing with 1995 onwards - so stay tuned! Unfortunately, your description isn't ringing any direct bells - it does seem like one of the many run'n'guns that were around at the time; maybe one of the Neo Geo or Irem games? Have you watched the earlier videos in this "games of the 90's" series? There's a chance that it may be in there; if not I'll keep an eye open as I proceed making the 95 and onwards and let you know if I come across it!

@@GaryRetroGamer thanks, yes just about to watch the earlier videos. I've probably got the description all wrong 😂 but if I find it I'll update you. Love your videos so far, it's such a great trip down memory lane. Keep up the great work Gary. 👍

@@GaryRetroGamer Think I may have found it.... I think it is Gunforce 1991. Just found the two player video and player one is blue and player two is orange.

@@gazzarooney2157 GREAT! Gunforce was also available on the Super Nintendo. Fun fact: Gunforce had a sequel (Gunforce 2) which is in this 1994 video.

I think the arcade market lacks quality control, that's why we have so many crappy shovelware card and puzzle cards.
Summary from 90's arcade -street fighter and it's rip-off -mortal kombat and it's rip-off -daytona -crazy taxi -shoot em ups -pinup p0rn Did i say Daytona?
