i went for my first time last year, it definitley lived up to expectations, the atmosphere, the experience.BUT they said on ss news anfield was quiter than usual, so i went again and it went to another level(partly because i was nearer the kop

Such a shame that with social media today people are more obsessed with recording this stuff for likes rather than living the moment. If the 2019 comeback against Barca happened in 2005 with no social media, the atmosphere would have been 100x better. The atmosphere was still amazing in 2019 when the comeback happened, but in this video, you can feel everyone putting their heart and soul into these chants.

Chelsea 2005 is considered one of the best atmospheres that Anfield has witnessed, and that was 11 years after the standing Kop was closed for good. On normal match days it might be quieter, but when's its needed it's still capable of producing some special nights.

Exactly. People had stood at football grounds across the world week in, week out year after year with little to no problem. Hillsborough happened because of police incompetence, not fans standing up. Standing up doesn't cause a crush, funnelling too many people into a small area does, and that's the fault of the police, not fans standing up.
