Got to security level 2 yesterday :) I don't find the game to be too terrifying to play; it doesn't have any scripted jump-scares after all, so you can be prepared for a lot of the things the game throws at you. In fact, I think the hub area is the most terrifying area in the entire game due to it feeling like a liminal space.

The thing you were taking damage from in the warehouse was black grass, it is an environmental hazard that can be suppressed by shining light on it. A good way of dealing with it is to use multiple flashlights and place them in the small pouch on the right side. It will freeze objects where you place them so you can get a wider spread of light.

Some spoiler-free tips based on my own gameplay for a few sessions: -If you'll use a knife, consider throwing it instead; otherwise you will take a lot of unnecessary damage. You can still hit the enemies' weak points for an instant kill (still much harder than with a pistol) and you can get it back without getting into the melee enemies' attack range using the "telekinesis grab", so you don't need to have tons of knives to kill enemies. -Have some food with you and try to keep your max stamina full at all times. Each bite of food doesn't refill too much stamina so you likely won't be wasting the potential of food by prematurely eating it. (Having one non-broken knife with you at all times is also great for being able to eat canned food) -read stuff lol. Both some cassettes and some notes (especially the ones you find in base) offer information on various things about the game... This information includes how to eat canned food xd There is one note in particular that gives you a useful tip on how to effectively deal with an annoying type of enemy. You also have a notes tab on your map, which is useful to not only learn the names of enemies and anomalies but also explains some mechanics that might otherwise be confusing. You would also probably know what tried to kill you in the shed if you had been reading item descriptions, MR GARZOKU GAMES VR.

If you ever get back into the game, some good tips is that the spawn (spider like monsters) are easily fought by side stepping and having it miss. When it misses, it has a few seconds of recovering. The fragments are quickly taken out If you aim for the orb in the chest. And Mimics (The gun carrying enemies) are best taken out from a distance with a headshot.

4:18 the little jittery monsters are called spawn. when they lunge, if they miss and hit the terrain they become stunned momentarily and are open to just shooting them or running over for a melee takedown. when you fight them, try to only walk left and right or in circles around them to make dodging their lunges much easier.

To add to that, they die in 2 shots with a 9-18 pistol like your Makarov. So if you get a Lazer you can kill them before they get a chance to attack

Just remember, you can always adjust and even customize the difficulty of the game. You can change how much money you get from missions/selling. Damage sending/receiving from both enemies and anomalies. Rate of when tides happen, hunger rate and healing sources. Unfortunately you can't opt-out of losing items at death. Minimum losing your backpack items last time I checked.

Another tip I have is that when you have your hands near an object, grey circles represent things you can do with the trigger (on your controller) and white circles represent what you can do with grip (on your controller)

I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!! (it needs multiplayer or at least some sort of friendly interaction beyond Katya statues) also some tips: -the small fast tumbleweed looking things get stunned if they hit a solid object/ the ground if you sidestep an attack from them you get about 2 seconds to take a free shot -if you struggle to remember to switch ur gun off safety I recommend using the Glock as it means you'll at least have one shot before realizing the safety is on -scouting out areas you need to go to and taking out enemies from a distance can make you a bit safer while collecting stuff in that area. -and finally always carry some food on you while in the radius, nothing worse than not having any stamina while getting chased by tons of enemies!

a little tip don't use your knife as much. also your secondary is your best friend get a secondary before a primary. guns are super loud consider using a silencer. you should also stay away from the creepy crawly bastards. carry at least 3 pistol mags and one primary mag (if you have a primary). I mean this ALWAYS keep a back up pistol idc what pistol it is if you are in a dangerous situation you are going to need that extra pistol. Your welcome for the tips stay safe out there. Edit: the creepy crawly bastards are easy to dodge you just have to time it correctly. if they miss the will have a cooldown. dodge then shoot. 7:57 that was black grass you can make it go away with a head lamp and another type of light i forgor what it was called

I know this is a little late but i didn’t really find any thing about the spawn you asked about so i might as well, those black blobs that kind of slither on the ground are called spawns, the characters also call them “tumbleweeds”. The way i find the easier to kill them unless you just wanna empty your mag is, move left to right until they jump at you. When they do, there is a 3 second window that they stand still in, i would suggest running at ‘em with your knife or machete to kill them or if you have a silenced gun just shoot ‘em. Most pistols i know with Fmj will take 2 rounds but +p bullets are only 1. Also this doesn’t include the deagle or any other security level 3+ guns. This is only for 9x18 and 9x19 pistols also known as early game pistols. Good luck explorer and use these tips wisely.

So the black spider jumpy things are called spawns. To kill them it is fairly easy, when they jump you go to either the left or right and start shooting them. Also something that has saved me a TON of ammo that I don’t see people doing. Keep weapons on single fire, it saves a ton of ammo, and 2 ammo dog doesn’t differentiate that much between the guns (5.56 is very similar among 5.56 guns).

For the urchin things (spawn) you can move to the side to have them miss you when they jump. This stuns them when they hit the ground and they become easy targets.

Trees are your Friend when Spawns attack. Hid behind it w/ your knife out around one side, if they miss they stick to the tree. Or they land on the knife & die. I tried doing it w/out a tree & was 50/50 taking damage before they got skewered.

This game really shows the power of psychological mindsets. My first couple hours of this game were filled with terror, no doubt. But I felt so badass. I don't think I ever panicked so bad that I missed where my ammo was. I did come close though, and to me, my first few minutes playing this game is just roleplaying a grizzled survivor badass just so I can get into the mindset where Im calm under stress.

At any time you can manually save if not on ironman difficulty. Saving is a good way to keep safe in the radius if you make a decision that could affect you a lot.

The speedy bois will get stunned if you dodge their lunge attack and you can stab or shoot them from there, the black grass anomaly is what did damage to you at the depot when nothing was there, and all around welcome to the radius, but definitely need to pay more attention to either the tutorial, or general instructions or you'll do things backwards like I did. You'll save yourself a lot of having to leave and come back later because you went to the wrong combat zone first

If you're still looking for a trick to killing the fast little enemies, what I do is constantly strafe while looking at it, then wait for it to jump and miss me. It'll be locked in place for a good 4 or 5 seconds if I remember correctly, and it won't attack again for another at least 4 seconds, so really you're free to shoot it or stab it as you want once it has done its jump

Killing spiders is really easy once you know the trick, just wait for their jump noise and move aside, then shoot them. They have a cooldown of 1 or 2 seconds after jumping! :-)

Pro tip I discovered yesterday: throw a knife into a knife you're holding, stack knives. It looks silly, I did it in the main hub but I'd be interested if it A)does swinging this do damage? Does throwing it work? B)allows multiple swings per one maim swing, insta kill sword style C)each knife takes durability damage from contact, or is it just the primary knife?

Tips are appreciated? It's tip time then: The little spider things lunge and that it. If they miss the impact, they're stunned for a second, so side strafe and you got this! The fragmented are the zombies slowly shambling towards you uttering radio static. They come in easy and not so easy to see format, far as I've seen on security lvl 2+ they get armor in a little bit. There are full humanoids, former cops armed with pistols and later, armor and machine guns. There are anomalies, one shoves you, one just hurts to be in, some float around and damage on contact, one is a straight up lightning ball, there's one that stomps around, it killed itself on a propane tank for me, could it actually be a creature, not anomaly? Check points of interest, anything that's not trees and dirt, there may be stuff around you can use. An early upgrade to aim for is a better pistol, you get a free shotgun At home base that'll cover close range for a while Clear an area entirely before looting, I don't care if it hits night time SAFE OVER SORRY EVERY TIME

7:53 the grass growing out of the ground is toxic. and living too deal with them you need a boddy light looks like a small pack of cigs only with a small round light sticking out from the front of it. it has two light modes red ( its the hardest collor to see so it makes hard for you to see but its great if your roming and your trying not to get shot or hunted as the light wont give you away) and green witch is the easyest collor for people too see witch makes it nice for clearing rooms towns things like that but most importently it scared off the grass letting you walk over top of them i know it sounds like a joke. its really not.

Into the Radius does certainly look like a game where not a lot happens. It's kinda Fallout 4 VR-ish, but since I'm a huge Fallout 4 fan, I'm bound to stay on that.. there's more NPC interaction, quests that constantly get opened up and started (and some that stay open/incomplete for a long time, but that's the fun). Don't know if you've ever considered trying it, but it's worth all the modding pain-in-the-ass stuff. Into the Radius does look dope but I don't know... it's hard to beat Fallout 4 VR, as far as future apocalyptic wasteland games go. :)

@@Garzoku it is worth it. Easiest way to get into it is wait until it is all on sale in Steam (game of the year edition, all DLCs). I got the entire collection for $25 I think. Then follow GingasVR’s Wabbajack install process. Assuming your PC is decent you should get good performance. But yeah, it is a process that’s for sure haha.
