By “sticks”, I assume you mean reopens for Bike Week each year. Sturgis is a tiny town between Spearfish and Rapid, but nobody drives the 20 miles from those towns to visit Sturgis. Many in Sturgis only live there in Summer, traveling south for the brutal winter season. There’s been dozens of prior to this guy with same plan to capitalize on Bike Week crowds, which commonly exceed 100k. Almost all have failed. Even with great revenue those 2 weeks, the building maintenance and insurance costs the other 11-1/2 months w/o any revenue is a killer. Buffalo Chip works only because it has so little improvements to maintain and insure and it’s a known commodity for Rally attendees. I’d guess it’s less than 10% chance he’s back for the 25 Rally. Open the week of Rally, hope for large cash flow over the 2 weeks then adios back to Texas

I have not been to bike week since before pandemic when I was there for Buffalo Chip TT for a team I was assisting with some sponsorship. I’ve attended the rally on 6 occasions, always kinda wild but fun. I was last in Sturgis 2 years ago, had a mechanical with my plane and had to do emergency in Rapid then rented a car to drive back home to CO then drove back through about 2 months later to pickup plane after repairs. I remember the night we drove from airport, we stopped into Sturgis that evening, it was late March on a Friday iirc. The town was a ghost town. It was difficult to even find a restaurant open to fuel up for the drive as we were driving straight home to beat a storm. It was chilly but not bad enough for people to not be out and about but literally nobody was walking the streets. We ended up driving through town and eating in Spearfish.

As a kid in the early 60's my one Aunt and Uncle had a 59 Impala convertible. It was a 348 4-speed car. Red exterior and interior. When my uncle sold that car, for a "station wagon" I was so pissed. Throughout the decades I used to joke with him about that car and he knew even back then I was pissed off. That was the car that showed me that cars can be more than just transportation. I've been a car guy since back then, today I have a 69 Mach 1 (S-code). Like the Gas Monkey Garage Sturgis build. Best of luck!

Clear coat all the rusty (patina) covered metal to keep the look of it from changing and prevent rust getting on people and staining their clothes when they touch or rub against it. It will also make cleaning the place easier by keeping the rust from getting on the cleaning rags and smearing everywhere. You should swap out the Hex Head screws going around the bar for Pan Head screws so people don't cut their knees, or toes/feet for the sandle and open toe shoe wearing ladies, when sitting there and bumping against it. Bar is looking good.

I met Richard on my way down from Billings, Montana with a little Civic I purchased driving back to Chicago. First person I saw when I came through! It was fun to meet you and get a photo! I love all 4 of the shirts I bought and maybe was one of the first to buy some at the new location! I’ve been a fan and actually the same person ever since you started your show. I just do Japanese cars as that’s my era. The place looks awesome and it’s my favorite place there. Richard has great taste in design. Everyone was really nice and that was the highlight of my trip!
