In a classic sudoku a deadly pattern would mean you did something wrong, but I don't worry about a deadly pattern in a variant as the rules of the variant will show you which way they go.

i see what you did there! hahaha i only got one hat but i really enjoyed this puzzle. i overthought (and overmarked) things terribly for the first half of the solve, but once i cleared my pencil marks things flew along to the end.
