Richard, I am 125% sure that that topper was on the truck from the factory. Its the DeLuxe version as the standard version did not have sliding windows. There is a real nice RUBBER gasket attached to the TOPPER and not the truck bed. There will be a dedicated factory power lead from the cab of the truck on the drivers side that runs to the plug for the interior light in the topper also on the left front of the topper. These toppers are worth some pretty good $$ by themselves.....

Happened to my pops years ago. Somebody had a house listed for rent. We went to check it out before closing the deal. Pulled up to some guy and his son unloading what looked like some lawn care equipment. Asked him about the house. He had no idea what we were talking about. We told him the house was listed for rent. He said no it isn't this is my personal home. He was on vacation or some shit and had just got back and needed to mow the lawn. We showed him the ad and everything. Not sure how that turned out, but people will do anything to get some info or money 😂

Here’s the low down on selling someone else’s house, the issue is that most homes now have the DEEDS ONLINE and people download them or whatever and forge people’s signatures,etc they get all your info because it’s all online If u dig hard enough and if u know the dark web at all u can run a search and see if said persons Info was ever leaked in a hack or database loss,etc and if so u can buy that persons complete info (ss#, personal cell,emails, passwords, EVERYTHING) and use that to try to get the deed swapped them take out home equity loans on the home until it’s under water (that’s usually what happens,) then one day the sheriff comes with foreclosure papers and your like huh? I own my home free and clear then u find out I owe hundreds of thousands in loans that are unpaid and it’s a nightmare to fix! They even got home title insurance to cover this kinda stuff just in case!

What got me is he was looking for 6500 after discussing roughly 5000 over the phone. Also looking for work to be done on his vehicle. Started with his “fair” asking price but settles without hesitation for pretty much half. Then seemed hesitant to give up any contact info in order to complete the deal and get paid. Been reading the comments, and I agree with most of them, so my suggestion what Richard may want to do is when he gets a sketchy lead like this, do a little background on the property where said vehicle is located, then contact owner of said property, before he ever sets foot on unknown land, if Richard didn't have the millennials with him, chances are this could have gone sideways very very quickly. Moral of the story, check each and every one of your leads out to make sure they are 100% authentic.

He did do some checking on it before he went. That is why he was telling the guy that he knew who owned the property, the truck and he needed to talk to him to make sure he could buy it and take it. When he asked to talk to that guy and the sketchy guy gave him the runaround, Richard walked. Now they will try and get ahold of the owner and talk with him about all this.
