It's interesting that it's illegal to dump this just anywhere and yet your locale might not have a recycling center for gasoline (or some other fluid). Kinda difficult to comply with the law under such conditions. Thanks for this solution.

I was in the military and fueled up helicopters with JP4 at the time which has been updated to I believe JP8. We always had to do an "Aqua Glow" to "filter" out the gasoline from any water or dirt. If you didn't do this segregation of the fuel from water or dirt, it would cost the army lives, and money if that helicopter didn't fly right. Great video explanation of what I used to do, only with equipment made to filter it out. But if your not doing a tanker truck which usually hold 8,500 gallons and simply what you showed in your video, this is an excellent way to do that. Just throwing this out there as a help, but I advise people not to go to a gas station if you see a gas truck refueling there. The reason why is simple, because they fill the tanks at those gas stations and stir up all the garbage at the bottom of those tanks, and that ends up in your gas tank. My advice, .....wait until a few hours after that truck leaves to gas up. That allows the sediment to go back to the bottom. No telling how many times those tanks are cleaned out in a years time for SOME gas stations.

Throw it in your car, motorcycle, generator, anything. If it's no longer flammable just dilute it. I do this all the time and all my machines love it
@cphank3722 Жыл бұрын
The gas/oil mix intended for two stroke engines will work fine in a four stroke automobile but may smoke a bit. If you add a gallon or two of old 2stroke mix when refilling an empty tank at the gas station, the mix will be diluted so much you'll .never notice the difference.
@condor5635 Жыл бұрын
After burning 16 ounces of 50 to 1 mix, I will never add this to my car. If you saw how much black soot remains after just 16 ounces you’ll think twice about adding it to your vehicle. I’ll just continue burning it in my Coleman 1 pound tank with the top cut off.

Honestly, my solution for what to do with old gas in a lawnmower is to just dump it in my old ford, go to the gas station and top off, and call it a day. That little bit of water or ethanol in a gallon of fuel isn't going to really do much more damage to your vehicle than buying normal pump fuel will. Especially if you live in an area that gets a lot of rain because those fuel stations will get tankers of new fuel rain or shine. I've watched those guys filling the underground tanks in a deluge and the driver is standing under the overhang to stay dry while it pumps.
