The best interpretation I have heard on KZbin. It is indeed mandatory to play it highlighting the first note of each quartet, and take the time to let the huge pedal roars shine, then don't be afraid of slowing down the tempo when needed. Very nice organ and registration for sure. It is a piece of fury organ music, easy to play, but needing true musicality for it not to be boring. Congrats Matthias!

"spielt an den vier Orgeln" : Soll das heißen, der Spieltisch ist in Freiburg derart gestaltet, daß der Organist von seinem Spieltisch aus alle 4 Orgeln wahlweise betätigen kann (wie z.B. in Passau, wenn ich mich richtig erinnere) ? Ansonsten herrliche Musik, danke !

Genau so ist es. Über den Hauptspieltisch sind alle Instrumente gemeinsam anspielbar.
