I stepped down wrong a couple weeks ago and felt an awful popping sensation in my right calf. Very painful and not able to walk or put weight on my right leg/foot with my foot flat. I had to hobble around on my tip toes Went to Urgent Care and said I pulled a muscle and gave me crutches and told me to try to Walk on it. Well a week later still could not walk on it and very bed swelling and bruising on my leg and foot. Went to another Urgent Care for a second opinion and he said he thought it was an Achilles Ruptured and referred me to Orthopedic Surgeon. Went to see him almost a week later and he diagnosed me with a calf muscle tear and I am now in a air cast walking boot for 4 weeks.

What kind of doctor actually does this sort of exam? I've gone to three abd their attitude has always been "you're young and everyone is imbalanced". One even acknowledged a major strength imbalance that could become debilitating in later years but he didn't throughly check enough to pin point the issue in my opinion.

My left gastrocnemius medial head is less than half the length of my right gastroc medial head. No injuries, just did a lot of skate boarding and drumming and definitely allowed my right leg to dominate. Is this a lack of exercise thing? Can I lengthen my left side with stretching and intense calf exercises? Can it be atrophied or worse? I know I have a lot of questions but I’m actually planning on seeing a specialist for this. Any ideas or recommendations?

I tore my leg when i was young it still hurts. Its the muscle that goes from the back of the knee to top of the thigh i twisted my whole leg. I find it hard to sleep. Sometimes i fall over because my balance is off and i walk funny

Not run, running puts stress on the joints and works mainly on your aerobic endurance. If you want to build a proper posture and achieve muscle strength balance and symmetry, you should swim. Swimming tonifies the body in a uniform way, the pull of gravity on your joints is taken away. Swimming builds the most functional bodies.

My leg has been so messed up for a year and nobody can figure out what happened. I was training to climb a volcano and was doing tons of stairmaster and I woke up one morning and basically my whole leg was in pain, but especially on the bottom of foot/bottom of heel, upper calf and behind the knee. The foot/heel pain mostly went away after a few months but pain in back of knee has persisted and gets much worse after I run or hike/walk uphill. Do you think I tore my poplitious, gastroc or plantar?

How do you know between a DVT and a calf issue, I have had a pain in the rear of my upper calf for a month now and worries it could be DVT im 29 year old not very active due to depression, the pain occurs when walking not when resting.

What would it mean if the medial head of the gastrocnemius isn’t contracting? I’m experiencing numbness along the top of foot and the medial head suddenly appears atrophied. I cannot get it to flex and an experiencing some weakness of the calf muscle and pain behind the knee. My calves are usually very much defined as your client’s here.

I can't walk for a long a time or walk very fast because my calf muscles will start acheing so badly I can't even stand. It's feels like I have bricks on my legs and I can't move because if I do attempted to keep walking through the pain and aching then my legs will get stiff and cause me to stop and sit on the ground because I can't even stand because putting pressure on my legs really hurts my calf muscle when I'm resting my legs I have to sit down it's the only way to get rid of the pain. I have to sit down to get the pain off my calf muscle. Do you know what is wrong?

I don’t know what I did but I had my knees in a sitting down position then flexed my calf and my shit just flip or dolled in my leg
