Regarding the quiz- I assume it deals with insulin secretion via deplorization of beta cells within the pancreas. As your sugar level rise, potassium channels will stop leaking potassium in the beta cells, therefore depolarizing the beta cells and allowing calcium influx, to which that will influence secretion of insulin into the bloodstream per activation of GLUT-4 transporters. I also assume this is why eating simple sugars (glucose, fructose, galactose) on a consistent basis that's caloric dense exacerbates weight gain and/ or can make you feel tired i.e., you eat a sugar snack, your body secretes insulin, but it secretes too much, therefore resulting in hyperinsulinemia, and because now your blood sugar ends up being low again, your body tricks itself into thinking it's "hungry," to which a domino effect occurs.

we get the aminoacid trypthofan from proteins which can be converted into melatonin, the sleep hormone

Regarding the quiz i think we get tired after a meal basically because the parasympathetic nervous system takes over which is the rest and digest system
@MedicosisPerfectionalis2 жыл бұрын
Good 👍 What else?
@waelfadlallah89392 жыл бұрын
@@MedicosisPerfectionalis i'm not really sure but i once heard after a meal there is production of serotonin which converts to melatonin and another thought that feeding is a anabolic state and all the hormones that comes into play induce tiredness. Hope the definite answer will be in the next video :)

Regarding the quiz Probably due to high splanchnic blood flow and getting lesser flow to the brain may cause tiredness after meal Or maybe due to high insulin followed by high sugar intake

Too much information in a very short time. Three months course. It may be worth it to record the lecture and all the diagrams, then split the talk to fit the diagrams, then listen to it slowly, and see if it makes sense. Just listening to this is a waste of time. The foreign acent is machine gunned at you at 5,000 words per minute.
