Poet's argument literally has no relevance. You can't think 'lets not talk about it and the issue will resolve itself' Alhan has a point, grime is nowhere near the heights it used to be, it feels stagnated. Could be the audience have moved on, or no one is really making grime that connects. All eyes are on drill and these afro swing tunes.

@samhutley36794 жыл бұрын
Nah if u think about it poets right , grime has always had its up and downs due to other genres for example funky house started been the hype and no1 listened to grime anymore then it came back then we had that dubsteppy sound everyone was doing now everyone wants to do drill or afroswing ,give it 6months to a year and grime will be the genre everyones listening to again its all one big circle , all genres have periods where they dont bang as much as other times.. and we cant just put it down to mcs cos its platforms and djs that are just as much to blame ,they play 10 drill tracks to 1 grime as its the in thing , not due to the fact theres no music .

Hands down this is the best gassworks the debating and conversation was on point no one was moving dead at no point💯💯
@The-Average-GamerLY4 жыл бұрын
The grime is dead conversation needs to end it's been going on for years, the reason we keep saying this is because we aren't willing to allow grime to grow and adapt we all just want to hear ghetts, kano, wiley, skepta, jme and many more just shelling and they don't do that so much anymore and we can't accept it... grime will always be alive because everyone individually has moments in grime they will never forget, that certain tune, that certain set will always live on with true grime fans and not die at all the only time grime dies is when we start forgetting about these legendary moments and times and I know the core group of grime fans will never forget... it might not ever be mainstream and there will always be a bunch of poshboys and dickheads who come from the wrong backgrounds who are incapable of understanding grime and still think they have a right to an opinion... not being in the top 10 and getting criticism from people who it isn't being made for doesn't mean it's dead... the streets will never forget and won't let grime die, I'll be listening to and passionate about grime music until the day I die!
@Dockhead4 жыл бұрын
its simply because dickheads compare it to hip hop or rap or any genre, but dont realise them genres are now global and have been around more than half a century some of them, grime was essentially made in a small complex of a city from lower class black men who might of been also involved in crime or other aspects of life. alhan has no clue in my opinion, for what grime is its very much alive, go check stormzys old shut up tune, go check some of nines tunes go check some of jaykaes old tunes they all have millions if not tens of millions.
@andrewakoto37844 жыл бұрын
You got it spot on bro. Guys are saying Grime is dead, but are not even looking at the foundations. There are still radio stations with shelley DJs and MCs, old and new. Mode, Pyro, Rinse, Reprezent, just to name a few. Guys talking about new gen need to look at the right places. How many people watched Lord of The Mics 8 and subsequently pree'd the MCs that clashed, I know not many. How many dances/raves/functions happen regularly and no one wants to show face? Don't be screaming Grime is dead because the established names and legends aren't dropping riddims every week...really these people should be saying 'I don't rate Grime right now because my favourite MCs haven't dropped anything new for a while'
@The-Average-GamerLY4 жыл бұрын
@@Dockhead yhman I agree Alhan has very much gravitated towards the culture because he clearly has a passion for it but he wasn't born into it or anything like most man was, at the same time hed just a kid tryna get a reaction and knows exactly what he is doing hes a smart guy... but na grime very much not dead grime will live on as long as people keep playing the tunes (even if it's not in the millions) I've listened to the same nasty crew/BBK set from like 04 100s of times and get new enjoyment from it everytime I listen and that to me is special and something you don't get from mainstream tunes

People been saying grime's dead for years and it always comes back. It had some time in the mainstream recently which put a lot of people off and gave it a bit of a bit of a white uni boy, 'Alex from Glasto' image. Now other genres are definitely popping off more. Genres come in and out of fashion but grime is an integral part of British music it's not going to die out, in my opinion.

Grime is like WWE imo, past its glory days and probably won’t be as good as it once was because the components that made it sick aren’t about anymore. That’s not to say it can’t still grow and do well commercially (like WWE is doing) as it becomes more mainstream, but as a genre it’s not as live as it used to be so there’s a case for grime being both alive and dead. For me personally it’s still alive but it’s way past it’s best

Alhan was 5 years old when the only way to see grime videos was to stay up till 3am on a wednesday night every week to watch an hour of grime called from the ends on MTV base . Alhan was 7 when u had to stay up till 2 am to hear dj cameo drop some new tracks and if u was quick enough with your Walkman phone u could record it n show your mates . Alhan was 8 when sidewinder raw CD packs with a bonus DVD and risky roads were the only way of seeing the real raw grime mcs and djs . Grime didn't happen overnight and it's still not peaked. it's got a way to go yet but it's moving in the right direction . It just takes 1 or 2 fresh grime mcs to smash through and make it more mainstream than it's ever been . Grime is definitely not dead . Look at the pictures from Kanos sold out Albert hall show . An original grime don that's not put a lot of music out the last few years , if grime was that dead he wouldn't be selling out tours , surely .

They completely missed what Alhan is saying. Completely. He's 100% right. Grime is dying. There is no young generation to carry it on. We're not talking about 1 or 2 anomalies. It's sad.
