Hikaru cheated Levon in 2016 candidates. That was OTB where there was security. Why wouldn't Hikaru cheat online where there's little to no security? That's more plausible than Hans' case: Hans cheated online and then all of a sudden Hans is expected to cheat OTB when there's so much security. Lol. --- Well to me personally someone's previous history of cheating is irrelevant as to whether or not I think they're cheating now - the only thing I care about is the tournament's level of security: If I were in the white house ( NUoCQ5A4w-A ) then I wouldn't care if, say, Ismail Haniyeh or whomever was there are as long as they were thoroughly checked. But if you really want to compare online to OTB, then be consistent.

@@nicbentulan Holy shit you are really stretching for that one. There are distinct differences between cheating and making an error. This happens in literally every sport, fouls, errors, whatever you want to call it. Hikaru accidentally touched his King which was correctly called out and a judge was called and it was corrected. I do judging for another game called Magic the Gathering where these things happen all the time and are easily resolved. It's when these things are done consistently and intent can be confirmed that it becomes an issue of cheating but misplays happen all the time. Don't grasp at straws just because you like one person over the other and want to make a case of cheating.

@@nicbentulan Okay first things first, I'm not going into all your points because the reply here is about Hikaru and not all these other players you listed though I'm sure with some research I could debunk a number of those but I don't care much to do so. What I do care about is your definition of cheating as it is in chess and how you defend Hans who has been a PROVEN cheater yet when someone misplays you think it's the worse thing in the world. You change the argument to suit your needs, Hans cheated on multiple different occasions but because he was under 18 it's okay in your books. Hikaru made a human error which was corrected by a judge and no advantage was gained. This is nowhere close to using a cheating engine to literally tell you the best moves to make, you can't seriously put these on the same level and if you do then there is literally nothing I can say to you because you are that stubborn on your position. You call these guys bullies, but I can point out in many competitive sports that this is just how things are. For example in Basketball, a star player might over sell a play to get a foul call and because they are a star they get the call. Is this cheating? No it's playing the game and using every advantage to win. It's up to the refs, judges, arbiters or whoever in whatever sport that is to call these situations and punish them accordingly, be it a foul, yellow card or merely correcting the situation. You make every excuse you can for people you like or feel are ethical and offer no benefit of the doubt to those you don't. Thank god you are not a judge in these situations as you'd be fired instantly.

@@Mitsunari4Gunz Hans cheated as a kid and then apologised. Magnus Garry Hikaru cheated as adults but didn't apologise. So why aren't Magnus Garry Hikaru more evil than Hans? Breaking the rules is the same thing as cheating. Good job on being a hypocrite and a defender of cheaters. I am a defender of FORMER cheaters. You are a defender of CURRENT cheaters. Hans WAS a cheater because Hans apologised. Magnus Garry Hikaru ARE cheaters because they DIDN'T apologise. 9LX players are more honest than chess players.
