Hello Deepak, As the term says grain boundary energy per unit area. Area decreases with increase of grain size and hence the ratio increases although the grain boundary energy decreases. The decrease in grain size has more significant effect on ration then grain boundary energy. Refer page 141 (V Raghavan Book), and page 240 of Callister to know more
