This almost bring me to tears because 1) Gate 82 is back!!! I often checked and was starting to worry that there has been no new episode. This show is my reference to a planned trip to Korea. 2) I am from the Philippines and was truly touched and inspired by Reply 1988. Every chance I get, I tell people to see this drama too. 3) Me and my sister just booked tickets to Seoul! Woohoo!! We are travelling on November and as early as now, I am buying a guide book, studying Korean alphabet and phrases. We have been going to Korean shops and restaurants too to learn the etiquette and enjoy yummy food!!! Welcome back Gate 82. Congratulations Hannah and Team!

I honestly couldn't watch the 응답하라 series at first because I couldn't relate due to the fact that I'm not Korean and I live in the US. But let me tell you, I started with 1988 because of you, Hanna! You raving about it made me just push through it at first and I have no regrets. I was hooked! I've seen tons of dramas and 1988 is probably one of the best I've ever seen. The storyline was just everything! And that made me watch the other two in the series. But so far, 88 was THE BEST! Went back and watched this because I loved it so much. This time, I'm able to relate to what you were talking about haha. Thank you!

Hello Kaylie! Right?? It is unfortunate because a lot of people around the world may not be able to relate to the pop culture and icons at that time--not to mention some of the comedy... Trust me Hanna, reply1988 is so popular in some other Asian countries. Most of my friends back in china watched this drama and really love it! Of courses I am a super fan of this drama:) it reminds me some of my childhood even though I was born in 90s:) my flatmate and I enjoyed guessing husband very much kkkkk

+Qing z. Hey Qing! I'm actually Korean American and a lot of my friends are too! And you're right they all watched this drama! It was so popular everywhere... but in some countries it didn't do as well because it was harder to understand the pop culture and comedy during that time... so it may not have been as interesting to those viewers! Whereas modern kpop is more common internationally... But... it got over 20% here in Korea ratings-wise and that's SO good for any cable drama~ Thanks for watching :)
