Interesting. Usually, they use an SOS System. (Siren Operated Sensor)

Never seen any setup like that

A friend who works for a parking company informed me of such a gate at one of the locations he works at. It’s basically a sound pressure level sensor that trips on a audible frequency range at an audio level over 98 db. Basically pull up to the gate and blast the electronic air horn or a quick zap of the siren= gate opens.

I’m guessing that big base antenna is the receiving antenna for the whole thing?

Such a waste of an APX.

Was that really the best way of doing this? I mean it works very well but that looks like a very expensive door opener.
@anongator Жыл бұрын
Oh there's definitely other ways of doing it. But it's still cool AF and works well

If I could find a battery operated gate opener in my region of the world, I have some old P50 radios setup with selectone decoders. Darn thing is they all work on 230 volts. When the power goes out during a thunderstorm who wants to get out of their car to manually open a gate when the power fails. It’s extra work and cost to instal an inverter to power the gate when, if I can bring in a system from the states to do the job with a solar/battery operated system.

Why not use a Knox keyswitch?
@masonblann Жыл бұрын
No Knox Box system there?
@anongator Жыл бұрын
Nope. Owner probably didn't want it.
@Subgunman Жыл бұрын
Knox boxes are not that secure. The access key on the box can easily be found on line listed by municipalities in many areas. A trade secret that very few know.

@@Subgunman I’m sorry but that is simply not true. You must be thinking of elevator key boxes or other elevator fire keys.
