I have heard theories that the Empire from GATE may have been descended from a missing Roman Legion which is why the speak Latin and the names have a Roman touch to them. I am left wondering how they’d react to that Jung’s like the Preatorian Guard being one of the major factors in an Emperor’s death. Also if you are going to focus on the Swedish songs then I think the next one should be about the death of Carolus Rex, I think it was Long Live The King but I forget which song it was. Another song I think they should listen to the songs about last stands like The Last Stand which is about the Swiss Guard, The Final Battle which was the Battle for Castle Iter (where some American and Whermacht troops defended the castle which had French political prisoners (a couple generals were among the prisoners) against a larger SS force), then Hearts of Iron (the song about the fall of Berlin and how the actions of o forget which army to allow civilians and soldiers of the 9th army to escape the city), the only other Sabaton song I know of with the last stand was Sparta. I think they should also be shown more of the world wars like Fields of Verdun, The End of The War To End All Wars (I think that is the one where it mentions the dead and “3 empires are no more” (which I think doesn’t fit since from what I know four empires died with World War 1 (German, Austrian-Hungarian, Ottoman, and Russian). And Dreadnought to see some of the largest warships we made. I would have recommended them being in order so the world war 2 ones would begin with Rise of Evil. Another world war 2 one I can imagine should be Wolfpack to fill Zorzal with more fear at the thought of ships designed to go underwater and how it means that just because you don’t see ships doesn’t mean there aren’t any around.

One question, if your theory is that the Empire was descended from a list Roman legion, which one would it be because depending on which area they were and when they were lost their looks, accent, even dialect could be very different. Although I really like that theory it has a bit of weight behind it.

@@joshuamattingly1232 I don’t know I think the Theory had the Gate appearing on Earth before but I forget which Legion the theory states it could have been the Ninth Legion which disappeared in 120 AD which had the title of Hispania which means it had to be from Spain. Which then would bring a question about whether they would remember the Roman Empire if they are descended from the Ninth Legion.

@@joshuamattingly1232 I didn’t think of that since the theory only mentioned the Ninth Legion Hispania which was lost in Britain during Boudica’s Rebellion. If it opened in Tautoburg I am unsure if the Legion would investigate it since they were trying to go and out down the rebellion of the Germanic Tribes. However they could have retreated through the Gate during the ambush that wiped out the Roman force. A similar thing could have happened with the Ninth or any of the lost legions.

King Carolus and his royal guard were on the run from the Russian Empire that they were at war with at the time. They wound up in the Ottoman Empire and the Ottomans welcomed them in. When the Russians told the Ottomans they wanted Carolus dead or they would invade, the Ottomans attacked. Almost the entirety of Carolus' guards surrendered except for about forty men, all of which were members of the royal guard. They fought their way out of the Ottoman Empire and across Poland all the way back to Swedish territory with minimal casualties.

Another great video! Gate were commenting on the pain tolerance of these men. Well, here is a true story from the War for American Independence. In 1780, the British Loyalists under Patrick Ferguson were attacked by the Over-the-Mountain-Men at King's Mountain. One of the men was just 14! He had just reloaded his rifle when a Loyalist attacked him with his bayonet. The 14 year old fired and put his hand out. The bullet killed the loyalist, but the bayonet pierced through the 14 year old's hand and into his leg. One of his fellow Over-the-Mountain-Men saw him in his predicament and pulled the bayonet out. The 14 year old bandaged his hand, reloaded, and continued the fight! The Over-the-Mountain-Men were all frontiersmen and had to be tough when carving a farm from the wilderness and fighting Indians. The Battle of King's Mountain was a devastating defeat for the British as they lost the best Loyalists in the army. Then a few months later, General Daniel Morgan crushed the British at the Battle of Cowpens. Morgan himself was a tough guy. During the French and Indian War, he was a teamster for the British army and he struck an officer. He was punished with 500 lashes. However, when he was done, he told the one who lashed him that he couldn't even count right because he only did 499.

You used a great video! There is a lot of action in it, and it reveals the whole essence of this song. If the characters reacted this way to the Swedish soldiers, then it is not difficult to imagine how they would react to Napoleon's guards, who, by the way, showed themselves well on the battlefields.
