Sir at 9:48 you r saying 4 th element is -2 but it is coming as-1 , which is not present in the option,may be some printing mistake in option C (rightmost matrix element )

sir, the option D is also satisfying the property of eigen values. sum of the eigen values is -3 which is our trace of A and product of that is 2 which our determinant of A.

Sir isme hum properties of eigen values, use nhi kr skte they kya...??? As eigen values are -1,-2 , so acc to property(i), we can get that sum of diagonal matrix of option(d) as -3. And also product of eigen values are as 2. And in option(d) we get |A|= 2 So option(d) can be also correct???

Thank you for the trick to solve the problm so easily. But option C is not the same with the answer calculated.. The last element is not 2

Sir ek eigen value ka question hai.jo Electrical 2007 me diya gaya hai 2marks ka..jisme eigen value of M??find karne bola..ek baar usko xplane kar dijyega na Sir..

Sir option d is right because Its trace and determinant is equal to sum of eigen values and it's product respectively.

Sir why not answer is d? If we select two eigen value minus 1 and minus 2. From properties of eigen value option d satisfies the trace and product of eigen value equal to determinant.

Sir calculated M^(-1) and given M^(-1) not match. Whereas option D is correct -1-2=trace of matrix A and - 1*-2=|A| . Thank You sir.

In made easy and other material Formula given is M^-1 × D ^ M. As per that A should be the answer please provide guidance @gate academy

It's not the only condition to find the ans. In que we are given vectors also so condition AX = (lambda) X needs to be satisfied.

Sir Option D satisfies 2 properties of eigen values : 1. Trace of matrix = sum of eigen values i.e. equal to -3 2. Det[A] = product of eigen values i.e. equal to 2 Then why option D is incorrect
