summary: a join is always cross product with a condition in self join, a table is joined with himself. always remember that in a select ___ from ___ where _____ statement, the from ___ where________ part will get computed first. and then the select part. In a self join, you join a table with itself. Don't forget to make the 2 variables to do the join, otherwise SQL will give an error when you try to join 2 tables by themselves. The where part is the condition of the join table

Beautiful explanation. In my opinion with the list of all the cross joins and condition, one has to have the direct intuition of how will it work without listing the possibilities. It requires practice and problem solving to get to that point. Thanks for the video! Also I guess we will be needing to apply distinct in order to print S1 only once.
