Thanks! This video helped allot when I had to clean it out. There was about a quarter inch of dust completely covering the heatsink. There was absolutely no air flow traveling through it.

I find if you flip it upside down and start with the front "foot", the clips there come away much easier and the are cutaways for access. once you realize the power button comes off with the back it's actually a pretty easy piece to get off.

I have this model and was wondering if you plug a mic into it does it reconize sound? My internal mic is working but not when i plug an external mic also iv'e updated all my drivers and gone through tehbsound settings, it reconizes my mic just not the sound

I own a Gateway AIO ZX6971. I purchased RAM from Crucial, but I need instructions to guide me on performing the hardware upgrade. So far this video on KZbin lets me into the guts of this machine. But there is hardware enclosures. I would need to know which one to access. Does anyone have any PDFs or can provide constructive feedback on performing this task?

I've recently got a used on of these. Everytime I plug the power supply into the computer it cuts off. It sounds like a short of some kind when I plug it in. The computer therefore cannot come on. What could be the problem?

I have Gateway zx6970. When I upgraded from windows 8 to windows 10, I left the computer. When I returned, it was off, and would not turn on. The green light on the power supply goes out when I plug it in to the computer. There is no response when pushing the power button. No LEDs or anything. Tried another power supply, no good. still nothing. Worth repairing?

The same thing happened to mine. Took it to a computer repair shop and they said it was the motherboard and would cost too much to repair. I just found a replacement MB so I need a video to show me how to replace it. I also want to upgrade my ram to 8gb.

Computer Solutions I have the Gateway ZX6971 computer which works great but I'd like to send an HDMI video signal from this computer to a Sony HD TV's HDMI input.Plugged the proper HDMI cable into the rear Gateway HDMI In(?) and there's no video on the TV. I've read on some blog where the HDMI In really doesn't meam "In" to the computer; it's just Gateway's way of identification.

I need help please. My GATEWAY ZX6971 shutdown by itseld. I have changed the FAN but still doing the same thing. Also the fan is too loud. I cant remove the tiny screw on the motherboard and its stripped already how can I get it?

Use a drill bit and go slow and remove the top of the screw and it should pop off the top of the screw. From there remove the motherboard and use pliers to unscrew the remaining part of the screw. Hope that helps

You purchased a refurbed most likely. We had a lady come in with a custom laptop yesterday and found the computer had a screw in the heat sink fan. Never open by the customer found out it was refurbed. Hope that helps.
