This is a flip through of Letters + Numbers 3, "In the Jungle" from from Gather 'Round Homeschool. This unit is part of Gather 'Round's preschool/kindergarten series. Gather Round Homeschool is well known for its unit study approach that integrates multiple grades and age levels.
The Letters + Numbers series is a new addition, targeted at the preschool-kindergarten aged child. I hope you enjoy getting a look inside this homeschool preschool curriculum and get a good feel for how it works.

Oh yes, they are my favorite ways to "decorate" my house. I recently had to take down one of mine because the wall had gotten water damaged and damaged the map, oh well. I have another world map in a different room, anyways!

I have letters and numbers 1 and 2 for my toddler this year and this is so beautiful I think I will stick with it for next year as well! I originally got it for my 5yo but I decided to start him with good and beautiful’s level K primer instead

When I was in preschool and kindergarten, I don't remember doing things like this till grade 2/year 2 like the life cycles and things like that so its amazing now how smarter kids are getting at a younger age

It's true that things have definitely changed and topics are being introduced at earlier ages these days. There are good sides and bad sides to that I think. On the one hand, sometimes kids are being "rushed" too fast by the expectations and curriculums and don't have enough time to be a kid...but on the other hand, when you introduce a topic like "frog lifecycle" at an early age in a very simple way...a few years later when the child learns about it again in elementary school, it will be easier for them to understand because they already have that foundation and those memories of having fun learning about it before. "Fashions" change even within education!

Oooo! I’ll have to look into this! I need to work with my younger 2. The curriculum has changed for public school kindergarten here, I feel like I have to prepare my kids more now than I did with my older kids when they were little.

This one looks great just like the previous two! I have enjoyed all three flip throughs. I’m doing Masterbooks prek with my littles now, but I’ve got my eye on these next. I think they would be perfect for them!

I think that's one of the really cool things about the preschool years...there can really be enough time to work through a couple different programs, having fun making different memories together and really getting those foundational phonics and numerical skills solidified before "school years" begin!

I actually had these printed at a local ma-and-pa print shop, but to be honest, I haven't been very happy with how this binding holds up. I don't know exactly what they use, it looks really nice, but we've had a lot of problems with pages coming out. I'm looking into probably doing my own printing and binding in the future, I think I'll be happier with results (and even with mistakes, ha!) if I print it myself.

This book, "In the Jungle" is book 3 in the Letters + Numbers series, and "Ponds is book 2 in the Ready to Read series--"Burrows and Holes" is book 1 and I do have a flip through video on that one...posted in September, if you haven't seen that one yet. :)

@@jennythomas3985 I mostly lived in Grand Rapids area, so more on the west side of the state, but I've always had family in Flint, and still do, so I definitely know where Saginaw it!
