Thats kinda the point of Bachata and why its called a 'social dance' because the lead and the led are interchangeable depending on the dancers and their own personal cues. Its also why its so popular because the style of dance allows them to not have to be forced into an archaic regimented system of dance.

They can hop, leap and jump all they want or do pirouttes all day but women have grace and beauty down pat when it comes to dancing. I mean I am a guy so there is fact but I would like to think I can put my own physical attractions on the backburner and objectively decide on the merits of someones talent and no matter the style of dance or era from which it comes...guys just look like amateurs when they dance compared to women of the same skill level.
