Flying tanks with down directed guns are too heavy to steer so the guns can often miss the enemy when he is moving. Guns must be placed with 90° to rocket engines. So the guns always hit even large enemies without getting hit by them. While turning the flyer to 180° you can use another integrated pair of rocket engines and aim straight forward on the enemy. In this case you are able to fly around enemies without losing aim one single time. It also saves a lot of fuel.

I know that, but sideways firing flying tanks are not symmetrical, so adjusting the balance is difficult, and if the enemy tank is small, the enemy will be behind you and it will be very difficult to attack. It cannot be used for almighty purposes. However, if you try to make it possible to fire horizontally from side to side, the thrust of each side will become smaller and you will not be able to carry bombs.
