Gator on the CDT Part 1 Ch9: Starting the San Juans to Abiquiu

On this section of the trail, we started what I thought was our last section before hitting the Colorado border. The first few hours were pretty, but the trail quickly became tough and rugged. Between the snow, hail, mud, and freezing water, it was quite the adventure. My friends convinced me to take a side quick for lunch to the town of Abiquiu. During lunch, one of my friends found out some distressing family news and so we decided to stay the night in town at the Retreat On the River.

Yes, there is a gas station general store called Bodes that is also the bus stop. It's a little expensive but also has fresh foods like egg salad and a small bakery.. Across the street is a post office. 3 miles away is a Family Dollar. Thanks for following along.
