Nailed this video. I've been slowly starting to learn Gatsby to build a new site for my company, definitely going to hook it up to Netlify after seeing this!

Hi, thanks for the video. Question: does the site/ file exist? I am able to see the changes in the admin, but using the collection in the admin does not work. I get this error: ./src/pages/index.js Module not found: Can't resolve '../../site/settings/contact_info.json' in '/home/hanna/Code/blog/src/pages' Do I need to create it first?

Hey guys I have a question. If I am trying to design a website BEFORE integrating a CMS. can i just query basic text from text fields on the CMS and inject them into specific pages? Or is my only option here to programmatically create separate new pages such as blog articles etc.
@BobbyBundlez2 жыл бұрын
such a fantastic tutorial man. answered my question. It doesn't really seem to be matter how you use the data/content from CMS.. seems they give you full liberty with gatsby and Netlify CMS to query whatever data you want however you want

Hi, very helpful video, thanks! I usually create sites for my clients using Wordpress, but would this be a good alternative for making a site for client in Wordpress? Are there any downsides compared to WP?
@WebDevProfesh4 жыл бұрын
Potentially. Just know that wordpress is a much safer pick and has a bunch of built in features and plugins that your clients might want. You may end up doing more work using this, but you will have more control over everything. For extremely needy clients, I would stick to wordpress so that at the end of the day you can just give them the credentials and let them add plugins and other features.

Is there a gitless solution? Because I don't understand why I would need to version control my personal blog website... I want to use a static-site generator, but also want the rich-text editor to post new articles, so I don't have to deal with the markup.
@WebDevProfesh4 жыл бұрын
I don’t think Netflify CMS is for you then. Probably want to use headless Wordpress or sanity or contentful.
@vcaalnu344 жыл бұрын
@@WebDevProfesh I've found Publii Open Source CMS as an alternative, but I'm reading through whether I can implement it on top of an existing Jekyll theme.

Thanks for the video! It would really help though, if you posted the npm commands either in the description of the video or if You moved the screen to a position where they are readable. Right now they end up right under the red loading bar in the youtube video, making it virtually impossible to read them. EDIT: Also the command "npm i netlify-cms-app gatsby-plugin-netlify-cms" throws an error: "Unexpected end of JSON input while parsing near '...T6T+1E6q7/vZO8FnXTbp0'"

I got it I pasted in your code and it worked. What's listed on the Netlify site fails lol
