Phil Jones says the amp is rated at 70W, but at 0:09 I can see the power jack says 20V / 2.75A. That means 55W is going in, there is no way 70W is coming out, except for transients. Still it is an amazing amp.

Great catch. The only thing I can think of is that the peak power is 70W and the RMS power is 50W. HOWEVER, the Phil Jones website says 70W is the RMS, so I'm left scratching my head. Seems kinda shady.

@@dearmondgeezer5101 -- look closely at the video at 9 seconds in. That label (20V, 2.75A) is the DC power in rating. Multiply those two and it indicates that the DC supply needs can draw 55W, so it can't produce 70W out. The aux input is a low power input, eg, the output of a CD player or a cell phone earphone jack.

These amps are amazing ...always use PJB for my jazz gigs, great for both upright and electric...have a Cub and a two-four...Excellent! And nice playing from Mr. Saavedra here :)

I have a question. I know that I've seen people using this amp with a external laptop battery. But the gb-75 being sold now doesn't seem to have the 19v unit to but rather a typical 110-220v socket. Did they change the specs along the way? That would be a shame since the battery power was one of this amp's main feature.

Eight string bass. How cool is that? Or how freakin’ weird? Here I thought I was cool playing a 5-string. I have a Phil Jones and it is so impressive with how it creates such tones in a shoebox sized gizmo, but I can’t do what he does. Very impressive. Of course, the bands I play in are not exactly expecting that either.
