This was such a hard match for me to call because I root for both of these ladies. I wish they could both be in the finals. Sad to say goodbye to Ons but so happy for Coco. Hopefully Ons can come back strong at Wimbledon. I really want her to win a Slam, particularly that one, soon.

Didn't get a chance to watch this match and these highlights are so limited (reducing sets to seconds) it is hard to get a sense of HOW Gauff managed play. But it is what it is and she got through it. Cheers to both women!!

Coco is even too much, all it takes to beat Iga, actually, is a weak opponent on their good day. I know you gain your strength and confidence from the facts stated by the H2H stats between them. Be reminded that Iga is not a robot. She's human like every other tennis player. Therefore, It can never be 100% certain that she'll win. For Coco and every other opponent, there would always be a chance against her. The better the player, the better the chance to beat her, I believe.

Honestly, even after the first set, I wasn’t worried. I could see Ons was fading and getting tired. She threw Gauff’s rhythm off but the mental focus of Gauff def paid off set 2 &3. Hope she loosens up for the next match. Rooting for her all the way!

Why do so many players going for smashes hit the ball straight back to their opponent?...It's got me beat. For Ons to fold as the finals approach is now to be expected, ...mind over matter !

I think a lot of corporate businesses buy the tickets at ridiculous prices as a sort of status symbol, but they never go to the tennis. The seats are empty but the tournament gets the money. Stupid and annoying, but there it is.

Coco needs to stop playing defense and play more aggressive tennis with tactical precision. She needs to hit down the lines more often and her dropshot needs to improve, drastically. She basically just volleys the ball high over the net every time she attempts a dropshot and it lands too deep, giving her opponents ample time to sprint to the net.
