You have to have a sim card. The sim card receives the internet waves. To get the internet you have to connect to the internet with ssid and password

If purchasing for 2 / 3 foreign holidays per year, presumably, I would just need to buy a monthly data only SIM when needed? Hello, this would be done because the internet provider usually will provide their own sim card. Sometimes it's possible to have them use the one that came with the device but some companies will only sell you a new sim to use their service. Let me know if you have any other questions. Hey it should just be a plug-in and you’re set. Try only plugging the Ethernet in w/o any other wired connection (except charging if you need it). Using a USB connection simultaneously would cause an issue.

I have been trying to figure this out for month. It seems like it is too good to be true. I am seeing all these videos online with people using these and telling you how to set up with unlimited data. I cant find any data plan that is unlimited. Even on net gears website it says they work with T mobile but I call t mobile they just recommend me to t mobile home internet site. This is coming frustrating because I could really use this for my home internet since I live in a back house and can not get internet from the main house. can any one direct me on what to do and how I would be able to set this up once I buy it?

@@MidnightWM So I ended up moving from the back house and now I live on a boat. I was trying to find a hotspot for the boat as I work from home. The best I could find (in my area) is the Verizon jetpack, which was on sale for $150. Their "Unlimited" plan for $70 ($65 with auto pay) is 15 GB high speed and after that it is pretty much useless. I believe you would be able to use your phones sim card but it would still recognize the hotspot data.

You can recharge the battery. However, If you're using it for home use you don't have to use the battery at all, just plug the charger into a wall outlet and you will be good to go!
