Excellent review! It helped me to make a decision, however your conclusion was one dimensional, based only on music sound. The xm5 mic test was horrible, with Elite 10s performing well all around. Also, price has to be a consideration and the Jabra is significantly less expensive. Keep up the good work. I enjoy your reviews.

Hi, quick comment. You used the Elite 10 in spatial mode. There is a marked difference in bass and treble with this enabled as compared to turning it off. I vastly prefer it disabled and whats crazy is they still have great sound stage bu with better bass, trble and iver all detail. Out of curiosity was the 360 enabled on the Sony?

Yes, I usually do a top 10 in that category. I do test the ANC (if available) during the unboxing videos.

Hi Ron!! So, all of your videos are perfect. Truly.!! I'm looking to upgrade my Jabra Elite 7 Actives. The Sony WF-1000XM5 is first choice, I think. But then there's the Jabra 10!! What to do? I'm currently using the SpinFit OMNI eartips. No, they do not have a mesh cover. You have to be deligent about keeping them clean. But the fit and comfort are top notch.

@@ridhomuhammadrasyid636 if you havent decided yet, get the E10, all sony earbuds battery start deteriorating after a year, cant even listen to a single song with my old linkbuds s without the battery dying (a known issue with every sony tws earbud product). i just got the E10 a day ago, theyre great but you need to buy different eartips because they dont seal well and are loose.

Great question! Based on your list, you cannot go wrong with either the Elite 10s or the Free Pro 3s. The XM4s have great bass, but the sound isn't as clear as the other two.

I personally thought the XM5s sounded a little better, but where I live it is about 100 dollars more expensive than the E10s. So if money is even slightly tight right now, I would go for the Jabra earbuds

ambient mode xm5 > elite 10 , volume xm5 about 10% to 15% louder than elite 10 ,but xm5 have mic issue (noise place the mic is fking noise lol) and connection issue (sometimes will break 1 second connect)

@bjperryjr4664 IMO, the XM5 get about 2 ticks louder than Elite 10. I would say the ambient mode between the two are equal.

@pplover213 @dariov5288 I did notice noise in the mic once, but it hasn't happened since. I will keep an eye out for that. As for connection issues, I've never experienced that no matter what device I was using.

Bought the Jabra Elite 10 and they have a very comfy ergonomic fit. Sound signature is good, ANC is also nice. I'm experiencing issues with volume down on long press left bud, anyone else also experiencing the same? Also the dolby audio seems very muffled and below par😢 Will Jabra fix it anytime soon? And will the LE3 Audio codec be a game changer when it arrives early 2024?

I went from xm5 to elite 10 best decision i ever made , just turn dolby atmos off on the jabra app and turn it on on your phone settings your dolby atmos sound will go from sub-par to amazing ( I'm on s23 ultra )

Im going back to wired, more sound qualty and no battery. I had xm3, and elite 7 active, both dying due to battery degredation, my oneplus buds pro too mulfunctioning, Im done with TWL

I bought 1more triple driver and paired it with bluetooth receiver for multipoint and better sound quality (audio card), battery was good and sounds good using it for my daily work, you can charge the receiver while playing. No need for anc, passive isolation is enough

Without spatial audio, I would say the E10s. But adding it, the XM5s are wider, IMO.

Be careful with the Omnis on the XM-5s. The XM-5s don't have a mesh on the nozzle to protect the drivers from earwax, dust, and everything else. The Omnis also don't have a mesh

@ronontech no worries man. If you've got the AZ-60s, I put those tips on my XM-5s. Admittedly, they're not as comfortable as the Omnis, but they've got the mesh

Jabra have this weird tradition where they like to emphasize their bass even when it is in neutral. They still have a considerable amount of bass even when you tone them down, but the overall tone have the potential to turn bright and clear enough when listening to music if you tune down the bass down a lot. As a long time Grado user, I usually like to crank the bass of my Jabras all the way down to the point where the bass is none existant on the equalizer and just boost the mid and trebles all the way up. (Early models of Grado headphones was notorious for completely lacking it's bass, or more accurately speaking, they really like to tune up their treble.) The sound signature of that equalizer would sort of turn the Elite 10 into something close to a SR-80 or SR-125 with a bit more bass. Of course the SR-80 and SR-125 would always win in indoor situations, also you can't replicate Grado's unique tones, but it isn't like I can haul a UD-501, an headpone amp and my earphones around while commuting to work, so if the Elite 10 can mimic about 80% of my Grados, I'm more than happy to bring them out.

I have a major issues with these earbuds. They don't have shark fin eartips and my earbuds keep falling out when I tilt my head even slightly. I have eartips that fit well into my ear however. Do you have any suggestion how to keep the earbuds in my ear and not fall to the ground, so I don't have to keep cleaning them.

The one thing about the Jabra is that they are more comfortable than the Sony. The sound on the fives is just a click better.

Exactly on point , better instrument separation on xm5 , better vocals on elite 10 overall sound quality exelent on both , difference is Elite 10 a extremely comfortable while the xm5 are extremely uncomfortable! Also stability the xm5 lose contact with my phone (s23 ultra) for have a sec at least 5 times during a workout , the elite 10 never lose contact, the xm5 have better ANC bc of foam expanding in your ear canal Wich is why they're so uncomfortable! Over all the elite 10 are much better! Imo

Bruh, there's times when the XM5 loses connection from just putting my phone in my pocket, the stock ear tips are terrible, and controls are terrible. Sony loses just based on their price. Terrible product for $300.

The XM4s were my favorite to wear. But the battery issues with the right earbud became a problem. I disagree about the XM5s. I think they also look premium. Just a bit glossy.
