Gaurav, that's what Bing gave for naming of conductors: ACSR conductors are named after animals because they have a steel conductor inside for reinforcing, just as animals have a backbone. The names of birds are used for ACSR conductors, while the names of insects are used for AAC (All Aluminum Cable). The names of cities are used for AAAC (All Aluminum Alloy Conductor).
