WHAT, for the last one, why didn’t u multiply with the last column 16:40
@Greenemath2 жыл бұрын
It's explained in the video if you keep watching. The short form is to look at the zero in row 4 and pause for a minute and think about what happens when you change each element in column 3 into a zero.

maybe it's too late to ask, but I'll still ask can we not swap the first row with the fourth row? will the end result be the same? or different?
@Greenemath3 жыл бұрын
You can swap any two rows you want. Just like if you wrote out four equations it wouldn't matter the order.

@@Greenemath I have 4 unknowns and 3 equations!! How do I find the upper triangle and determine the pivot??
@Greenemath2 жыл бұрын
When you have n equations and m variables that n < m you must consider (m−n) variables free and fixed (they can take arbitrary value) then you try to solve your equation with n equations and n variables. You can post the question to reddit: www.reddit.com/r/LinearAlgebra/ or you can try the www.reddit.com/r/learnmath/, someone can explain and post pictures for you. Make sure you type the full problem out or take a clean picture of it written out. Good luck.

We were given a 5 equations with 5 unknowns and i cant solve it. Is it possible that the equations are incorrect and there are no values that can't satisfy them?
@Greenemath3 жыл бұрын
It's always possible that you have a system with no solution. Given that you have five equations and five unknowns, I would plug it into Mathway and see what you are supposed to get. It would be really easy to make a mistake when working a problem of that magnitude.

When u take 2R2+R4 in 3rd step
@Greenemath4 жыл бұрын
The value is correct, please check the video and watch what's going on. You are making a sign mistake and that is leading you to get the wrong value. One is positive and the other is negative. You have positive 14/3 and -6/3. The sum of these numbers is 8/3 which is shown in the video.
@faizanshaikh60364 жыл бұрын
You take wrong value of R4.its not 8/3it is -28/3
@Greenemath4 жыл бұрын
The value of 8/3 is 100% correct. This is at 9:21. We are first multiplying 2 by 7/3 which gives us 14/3. Then we are adding -2. 14/3 - 6/3 = 8/3. You are probably getting confused with your signs.
