Those "Dalit" authors had 23 whole centuries in their hand to point the contradictions out especially when it involved the birth legend of the greatest figure in their tradition, Only Puranas affirm the Shudra lineage of Mauryans and Nandas Buddhists literally assert the Kshatriya status of the Mauryans emboldening their claim on the throne which obviously looks like was a popular criterion of the time beyond Vedic customs while they had no reason to do so whatsoever, let that sink in. The Jain tradition affirms their Kshatriya status as well despite it being involved in centuries old feud against Shràmana religion, so the Argument that some cónnivíng Brahmins getting access to Buddhist scriptures inorder to corrupt them falls apart flat. Furthermore, Mauryans never oppressed Vedic religion, the Yagna Sacrifice was banned yes, but Brahmins still were pretty tolerant of Mauryan rule despite that Brahmins do consider them shudras and acknowledge the absolute tyranny people went through during Ashokan rule the very Emperor that patronised both Brahmans and Shramans, not to forget Buddhist scriptures are pretty harsh on Brahmins too, wherin they literally compare Brahmins with animals and portrays them as uncivilised and lustful barbarians, no Brahmin corrupter would have let this go unadulterated if there was to exist any Buddha never negated caste system, the verses where he sounds tolerant of non Kshatriya and non Brahmana castes has the very casteist essence you typically associate with Vedic philosophy that professes people of lower caste inheriting inhumane tendencies and some of them don't so it's not right to consider one more enlightened than other based on his caste, it's not talking about rights or dismantling the caste stratification while contrary to what yóu are saying, Buddha doesn't contradict himself when he says some very unappealing things about Shudras when he's addressing social issues which understandably so are different from philosophical ones

The class of Jhayaka, the class of Brahmins Then some of these beings thought: "Evil things have appeared among beings, such as taking what is not given, censuring, lying, punishment and banishment. We ought to put aside evil and unwholesome things." And they did so. "They Put Aside Evil And Uwholesome Things" is the meaning of Brahmin, which is the first regular title to be introduced for such people. They made leaf-huts in forest places and meditated in them. With the smoking fire gone out, with pestle cast aside, gathering alms for their evening and morning meals, they went away to a village, town or royal city to seek their food, and then they returned to their leaf-huts to meditate. People saw this and noted how they meditated. "They Meditate" is the meaning of Jhayaka, which is the second regular title to be introduced. 2b. The class of Ajjhayaka, the class of Brahmins However, some of those beings, not being able to meditate in leafhuts, settled around towns and villages and compiled books. People saw them doing this and not meditating. "Now These Do Not Meditate" is the meaning of Ajjhayaka, which is the third regular title to be introduced. At that time, it was regarded as a low designation, but now it is the higher. This, then, Vasettha, is the origin of the class of Brahmins in accordance with the ancient titles that were introduced for them. Their origin was from among these very same beings, like themselves, no different, and in accordance with Dhamma, not otherwise. Dhamma's the best thing for people. In this life and the next as well. 3rd, the Class of Vessa 'And then, Vasettha, some of those beings, having paired off, adopted various trades, and this "Various" is the meaning of Vessa, which came to be the regular title for such people. This, then, is the origin of the class of Vessas, in accordance with the ancient titles that were introduced for them. Their origin was from among these very same beings. 4th, the class of Suddas And then, Vasettha, those beings that remained went in for hunting. "They Are Base Who Live By The Chase", and that is the meaning of Sudda, which came to be the regular title for such people. This, then, is the origin of the class of Suddas in accordance with the ancient titles that were introduced for them. Their origin was from among these very same beings. 5th, the class of ascetics And then, Vasettha, it came about that some Khattiya, dissatisfied with his own Dhamma, went forth from the household life into homelessness, thinking: "I will become an ascetic." And a Brahmin did likewise, a Vessa did likewise, and so did a Sudda. And from these four classes the class of ascetics came into existence. Their origin was from among these very same beings, like themselves, no different, and in accordance with Dhamma, not otherwise.

So, if from a crushed/destroyed family (by the British with CTA 1871), one becomes a king (Kshatriya), then is he still crushed and destroyed? Maha Padma Nanda was Kshatriya because he was a king. It doesn't matter, who is the mother or father. It is silly to say he was a "destroyed" king. In addition, the lineage of Dhritarashtra and Pandu of Kaurava dynasty traces to a fisherwoman who stank of fish, so named matsyagandhi (stench of fish) and Rishi Parashara! They were Kshatriyas!
