Maestro Sidwell, you conducted O sommo Carlo in The Grand Tradition-with the NECESSARY big rallentandi that are sadly out of favor with conductors today. Poor things. They just don’t “get” this music. Luigi Mancinelli at the Met in 1903 got it. The famous Mapleson cylinder recorded in actual performance with Sembrich and Scotti is a ROSETTA STONE for how this music must go. Bravo. Thanks for posting.
