RIP to such a talented artist. I remember one time we were hanging out & stopped by a local place where many musicians played when in town. We listened for a bit, then Gavin sat in and blew everyone away with that smooth voice. I will always miss my friend.

Just picked up a Blues & Soul Magazine from 1986 with an article on Gavin which lead me to this post.. I have now just ordered his 12" vinyl "Back In Your Arms"

I just learned of him today. I love his voice. I learned today that he passed away in 2016. I will try to find this record to add to my collection. The bassline sounds like Michael Jackson's song -"The way you make me feel".
@MusicRunner822 жыл бұрын
Supposedly Michael Jackson nicked that bassline from "One Step Closer to You," since he liked it so much. Or at least rumors have circulated to that end...
@danahoward759 Жыл бұрын
It is!!!. he said in interviews that Quincy Jones made that decision to use the music for Michael's new album...

They both use very common tempos and melodic themes. Otherwise, they're entirely different.

You're just like me. 1986 was a very good year for me so I thought I remembered All of the music from that year. Easily one of the best tunes from that year and up until about 2 years ago I had never heard it.

Yes!!! He does! Wow, I never thought about that but I do hear it. Carl Anderson had a gorgeous voice
