Salve musicoffili e youtubers, è con vero piacere che pubblichiamo oggi questo grande speciale su uno dei batteristi più apprezzati al mondo, sia per la sua estrema bravura che per la qualità dei progetti musicali cui prende parte, Gavin Harrison. Lo abbiamo incontrato sul palco del suo concerto a Roma insieme a 05Ric, altro poliedrico artista con il quale condivide l'interessantissimo progetto musicale GH05, protagonista proprio di questo tour europeo, e non ci siamo fatti scappare l'occasione di realizzare una bella intervista ed un approfondito speciale su tutta la sua strumentazione live, a partire dalla sua stupenda batteria marchiata Sonor.

Hello musicoffili and youtubers, with great pleasure we publish today this great special on one of the most respected drummers in the world, both for his extreme skill and the quality of the musical projects which he takes part, Gavin Harrison. We met him on stage at his concert in Rome with 05Ric, another versatile artist with whom Gavin shares the interesting musical project GH05, protagonist of this European tour, and we did not miss the chance to make a great interview and an in-depth special on all his live equipment, first of all his beautiful Sonor drum kit.

Nice interview. Gavin is so brilliant. Experienced musician, straight and clear. I completely agree with him about taking a break after 14 months of tour with Porcupine Tree (and many years together) in order to "save" quality and creativity. They will come back, and they will make good stuff, because they're all very professional, creative and intelligent.

Personaggio intelligente, capace di analizzare il percorso che lo ha portato ad essere tra i grandi della batteria, senza dire "sono un superuomo", ma anzi levandosi i riflettori di dosso. Sincero nel dire che dopo 14 mesi di tour, uno si può stufare anche di far sempre le stesse cose, e vedere sempre le stesse persone; è umano no? Per una mente artistica, pur essendo i Porcupine Tree una band molto originale e varia, si rischia di entrare nell'alienazione. Per me assolutamente uno dei migliori.

wow, he's just a real gentleman. He's so friendly. I have a feeling that If I met him on the street and talked to him, he would answer any question and would talk for hours when asked interesting questions. I have so much respect for him, he's a huge inspiration for me as well ! I would really like to take lessons with him.

I like how the guy looks like he wants to move on faster because Gavin is talking too much but then asks a completely open ended question and gets the same result...

I use Evans HD Dry snare heads. I don't have a "ring" problem even under a mic.
