The difference is, he was actually an extremely down to Earth nice and funny guy. He was a well liked man. Why? Because he didn't pander to anyone and was respected. If he thought you were a decent person, that was enough for him to like you. It didn't matter who, what, or where you were from. My own mother called us 6 kids "curb setters" because we are 4 nationalities. In other words, we were the product of 2 mutts that bread. Hilarious! My grandpa is one of the soldiers at the Korean War Memorial...they sculpted his likeness etc...he is soldier 12 out of 19 holding a 1919 over his shoulder and yelling while wearing a poncho.
