When I was 18, I left for basic training a couple of weeks after graduating high school. After my contract, I landed someplace I didn't expect to, and just like when I was in the military, I found myself away from home, and alone. All my friends are still there. My house. My hometown. I am the only one who has left. My friends send me videos of my hometown often, and it has changed so much. It's no longer the place I grew up. It feels like I left the best parts of my life when I left for the army. Everyone is moving on. And I feel like I am being left behind. The end of this song hit me like a freight train. Not many songs make me cry, but this is one of them.
