Can I wrap it in foil instead of banana leaves or just steam it in a baking pan without wrapping. Maybe faster procedure without wrapping and just steam it in baking pan. No time to wrap

Do not use foil. Use baking paper instead. I have used Baking Paper once, ok lang sya. But missing the aroma of the banana leaves. Baking Paper or Parchment paper helps esp banana leaves here in Australia costs a fortune 😉

Sharing my thoughts, you can make “TUPIG “(Ilocos/Pangasinan style) same mixture. Instead of steaming the banana wrapped mixture, you can grill them using charcoal over an improvised flat sheet gutter✅🇵🇭. Opo, from Mangaldan Pangasinan po ako kung saan po napakaraming Tupig. Isa po yan sa isa ko gagawin na video. Meron na po akong ingredients. Naga hintay lang po ako ng Spring time para po magsibol mga dahon ng banana plant ko. Kasi po katatapos lang po ng winter naman. Wala pong dahon yung saging namin.

Pwede ka ring gumamit ng bigas tapos ilagay mo sa blender para maging rice flour. Hindi ko pa sya nagagawa. Hindi pa ako naga substitute ng ingredients kasi maiiba ang texture at lasa.
