This is a very simple to cook sweet and sour Chinese dish. Its so easy because all you need is to fry the chicken fillet, of course you have to dip it in batter first which is also very simple, then fry them until golden brown.
Sweet and Sour Chicken Ingredients:
500 grams chicken fillet breast or thigh part, cut into large cubes
2 Tbsp. rice wine (or gin) optional
2 medium size red and green bell peppers slice into wedges
1/4 cup spring onions chopped
5 cloves garlic, minced
2 small onions, cut into quarters
1 cup pineapple chunks
Cooking oil for deep frying
For the Batter:
1/2 cup potato flour or rice flour or all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
3/4 cup water
1 tsp. baking powder
Sweet and Sour Sauce:
1/2 cup banana ketchup
1 Tbsp. hot sauce
1 Tbsp. hoisin sauce or Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp. Chinese rice vinegar or cane vinegar
1 Tbsp. oyster sauce
2 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. corn starch dissolve 2 Tbsp. water
salt and pepper to taste
