The operating character is Keigo Ochigi, the security guard who was mentioned as missing at the beginning of the game. This world is his mental world in a coma, and he is trapped in the grudge of the woman in red. The woman in red and the protagonist are having an affair, and when the woman's grudge catches him in the last scene because he cannot answer the birthday of his child, he is looped before he arrives at work. The numbers around the birthday input panel and the rewinding of the video in the ending 1 suggest this. The other people in the companies are like virtual personalities created by Ochigi, and as Ochigi loops, they also loop. In ending 2, he shakes off the red woman's grudge with his love for his family and wakes up, but soon realizes that the nightmare is not over.

46:12 As part of my job during the closing shift, I had to walk through our warehouse, which was an old craft store, at the end of the day to look for squatters before locking everything up. This reminds me of that. Really dark, and really dingy, with fluorescent lights that hardly light anything. It was really creepy the first few times I did it, but after a while, I got so used to it that I honestly could’ve slept in it if I needed to. I would always listen to music through ear buds when I did it, but on Halloween, I would play horror game ambience to spice up the mood.
