The older man, David, shows just how far we've come in just a generation or two. For 50 years, for all of his youth and development, he never thought it was even possible to safely, happily, openly be gay. Even after coming out, he thought he was mostly alone before going to Pride. THAT is just one reason that Pride is so important. People need to know that they have a community and allies that don't just accept but *celebrate* them.

I think they’re not allowed to move too much. Remember they’re filming and probably doing multiple takes. If they move it makes it harder to edit if they had to cut it. I remember before they told one of the girls she couldn’t take her jacket off because of continuity

Most stereotypes generally have some margin of truth to them. They’re not necessarily a bad thing unless you put too much stock into them and think the stereotype is the rule. Of course, this isn’t the case for all stereotypes and there are a lot that just based on misinformation and harmful bias.

I’ve never been to a gay bar but I know exactly what they mean by how comforting it is to go to a gay scene. Like sure people will judge you because we’re humans, but being judged for something other than my sexuality is almost always an immense relief

I agree that to be in the company of others who, if they judge you, you know it's not because you're white, black, gay, straight, etc., if I were white living in a country where ninety-nine percent of the people were white and I got pulled over by a white police officer, I would think once or twice that it's because I'm white. I was so happy my first pride. I felt so accepted to be there with my girlfriend, especially coming from a family that says they’re accepting outwardly but inwardly they really aren’t. I still hadn’t come out at that point and it was so nice to feel comfortable kissing the girl I was in a relationship with without fearing of getting caught. I really felt that when the older man cried...

I am 12 years old & I’m growing up in a Christian family that teaches being part of LGBTQ+ is not right. I am also a follower of Christ. But, personally I don’t have an opinion on LGBTQ. If someone came up to me and said, “Do you support lesbian and gay people?”, I don’t agree or disagree. What I don’t like is when strangers physically offend people that are part of the group. It really annoys me because that gay or lesbian person can do whatever they want. We can’t control their lives. People are so unkind and rude in this world. Humans can make there own decisions. I don’t think LGBTQ+ is okay but I also don’t think it’s wrong. I AM NOT TRYING TO OFFEND ANYONE AND FORCE ANYONE TO SUPPORT OR NOT SUPPORT LGBTQ.

It doesnt mean anything other than being attracted to men. People assume we have a culture but it's just a sexuality. On t.v. and other media there are always feminine men representing the rest of us and it irritates me because a lot of us are completely normal men. Everyone can do what they want but to me being gay is just my sexual preference and nothing more

I agree in some ways, but it's interesting to me that you refer to these non-feminine men as "normal". I feel like masculinity and being stereotypically straight is what a lot of gays want to be seen as, whereas femininity in men is still viewed negatively. Imo, that's part of internalized homophobia -- we're conditioned to want to pass for straight. Not criticizing what you said at all though, just throwing out an observation.
