Enjoyable. Also, I appreciate how you have the characters introduce themselves at the start. Monsters like John are all too real. There are so many real-life horror stories. The irony around the mindset is that keeping "gayness" in the darkness will somehow erase it. Instead, it allows for predators to move more easily and freely. ***Spoilers*** The fear the two still share at the end of the story after John attacked them. They couldn't come forward or say anything because of the prosecution they would face. Worse, they blamed themselves in a sense. As if they had done something wrong. Worse, as if monsters like John are going to "magically" be fixed after X amount of time behind bars. "Let a wild animal out of its cage, and it will still hunt and kill regardless of the time it's locked away." The spark has dimmed maybe, but it hasn't died. Though, of course, for some evil, the fire never goes out. They just learn to hide it better . . . until they can't anymore.

Accurate comment after *Spoilteers*. Actually, John will target the two men, even after he has spent time in prison.

@nick0340 Seeing as John was out already (it was 12 years later and he had only been sentenced to 10 years), and per the story, he was in the NEWS being arrested for the same thing again. It's clear John had an "age" preference. Putting it mildly. So, he probably had little interest in tracking them down. Focusing his energy on easier prey rather than revenge. PS. I corrected my spelling errors.😁
