This video is too clever for most people to understand (see comments below.) It's the same reason people don't get Family Guy. By pointing out the contradictions and double-standards of society thru humour, you actually have a bigger impact than simply saying it. But then I think, so many people don't get it, is it worth it... Well, I liked it :)

I am a straight male, in my early 20's. All I have to say is, good for you! I'm glad you are able to live your life being comfortable and happy with who you are. Nothing makes me angrier than people who try to bury and hide who they really are - just because, they think "society" or, the people around them, will look down upon it. This applies to any situation, not explicitly homosexuality. I hope you always continue to be secure, confident and happy with yourself, as you should be.

Davey is known for being extremely sarcastic, playing hard on stereotypes and should never be taken seriously. Well; should usually not be taken seriously. But he is approaching a serious topic in a goofy manner. It doesn't matter that he's talking about specifically; he's tackling the subject of double-standards in general.
@KiRAWRa

(2/2) The best explanation I can give for why you hear more about straight couples than gay couples is simply the fact that being straight is far more accepted than being gay. You never know what kind of drama will be stirred up when the subject of homosexuality comes up, so most people would just prefer to not talk about it at all.

Very true. A lot of people have told me, "I don't have anything against gay people, but I don't like the ones that flaunt it." They've told me that they're talking about the ones with lisps, and are exaggerated in a "gay way." The fact that you have that caveat is an excuse to be hateful. And it is super hypocritical when they don't hate on pulchritudinous women for being voluptuous or buff men for wearing shirts that show muscle. It's a part of who some people are. Normal is subjective.

whats wrong with wearing wedding rings? my parents always have and I dont think of it as them "flaunting their straightness" its showing love and dedication to your significant other (whether you be straight or gay). and sure PDA can get annoying when its way over the top... but if your married and your holding hands while you take a walk, theres nothing wrong with that

I'm straight and LOVED that awesome parody section. It was spot on, Davey! I really hate people who use that "I don't hate gays-"and you can hear the 'but' before they say it (but lol gay pun) in high school I shouted down a classroom because some of my peers said such a thing (group discussion was gay marriage) and I TORE into them as they kept digging "I don't mean it's bad but it's not natural" Well sweetie neither is that weave but you have no problem shoving it our collective faces.

What heterosexuals can't understand I'm guessing is that we don't live our lives based on our sexuality. It doesn't define us, but it is a part of who we are just like your heterosexuality is a part of who you are. We're exactly the same. Sad that people can't see that.

Last year in Mexico when we were debating about gay marriage in Mexico City it happened there was a peer of couples making out in the subway. One was straight and the other one was gay. Then it came this guy and started annoying the gay ones and police said nothing about that. So my friend decided to do the same with the straigth couple and police asked him to stop bother them. Now gay marriage is legal in Mexico City, but i think is the same with authorities.

I think people showing affection for each other is perfectly fine. I don't see what's wrong with holding hands in public. Kissing I can kinda see but it's not that bad, is it? They don't do it to flaunt it or obsess or brag about it. they're just showing their feelings for each other.

i actually can't tell if this video is meant as a joke or not..? what do you mean flaunting? why can't people who are in a relationship just hold hands/kiss/whatever in public without people getting all offended. that isn't a question of gay v.s. straight its a question of please calm down and let that couple do what they want. yes i am speaking as a straight female but honestly i don't see how thats flaunting. just why can't we all get along and let people do their own thing and shut up
@Reyendo

I suppose it's stupid, but I just don't like overly-affectionate couples, whatever their sexual preference. It makes them seem like they need validation from an external source, or like they're trying to fool themselves into believing their relationship is better than it is.

(In my opinion): Sexuality is sexuality. If it shouldn't matter your sexual orientation as a gay male, then why should mine as a straight female? And if you fight for your rights to get married as a gay couple (which I am not adverse to) or show affection to your partner, why is it an issue when a straight couple does the same? I think you're facetted upon the idea of your own sexuality and what people think of it (b/c of the differentiation between straight and gay) you see it as showing off.

I'm straight and I hate when I see ANY people smooching around nastily in public and when someone constantly is talking about their gf/bf. But holding hands in public and wearing wedding rings isn't flaunting. When I'm holding my BF's hand in public I'm not like "OMGLOOKATMEAND MYBOYFRIIIENNDD". I don't agree with people hating on gays at all but a lot of what you say on this video is stereotypical against straights. It's like me saying all gays wear super bright clothes. Both are untrue.

I agree with you so much. It just isn't fair that EVERYONE can't show their love to their partner out in public with out it being crime not caring who you like or what you like. I wouldn't that gay people should be able to walk around kissing and holding hands un-judged because I mean everyone is always going to have their own opinion. I just mean that if you have something to say keep it in your head or tell one of friends what you think. Don't ruin their spark ,

I myself am a straight male, and don't flaunt it in public. Sure I show my girlfriend that I love her as many times as possible, but I know what feelings it could cause to other people if we would just flaunt it... Anyway, I know for a fact that some gay people flaunt it just as frequently as straight people. It's a matter of individual difference and freedom - not of sexual preference.

At first, I COMPLETELY objected this video, until you said that when gays do it, it's different. To an extent, that's true. But, just to throw this out there, just because straight people kiss in public, doesn't mean that they're flaunting it, it just means that they want to be close to the person they're dating because they're not afraid to show that they love each other, or simply care in public. It's more confidence then showing off.
