May I just add a little information. There's one island which is a better n more beautiful island near Kota Kinabalu. It's about an hour drive. Simply wonderful with all the sea activities including Seawalking. Beautiful n affordable resort rooms too. Just my opinion that Gaya, Manukan, Mamutik and Sapi are just an average islands. However, all these 4 islands are vary near to the Kota Kinabalu city itself. It's about 10 to 15 minutes boat rides. Don't forget to tour around the KK city especially at the Gaya Streets and Todak Waterfront. Plenty of good local food n fresh seafood available. Usually those travel to KK will proceed their visit to Kundasang too. Also known as New Zealand of Malaysia. If u r more adventures then you can plan for the mountain climbing to Mount kinabalu too. However, u need to make advance bookings thru their authorised local council. Good luck and happy holidays.

Hi good day, yes it is good time to visit there in july, what u can do in resort will be paddle with kayak or board, snorkelling in the crystal clear sea water, kayak into mangrove, visit their merc center and of cause there is diving as well. Cheers

Actually best time to travel to Kota Kinabalu is from March till July. Less rainy days

@@dotodooo To correct my earlier mistake. It is actually takes about 1.5 hours drive from Kota Kinabalu to Kota Belud . Boat ride from Kota Belud to Mantanani Island Island about 2 hours plus depending on the speed of the boat and weather too. U may stay at Sutera Mantanani. Beautiful hotel

@@dotodooo Yes. They fullborad package. Room , boat from Rempayan jetty (to/fro), 3 beautiful meals, free snorkeling facility too. It is around RM1500 package for 2 nights. Cost can be varies depending on season ya. The even have spa n bar serving hard liquors too. ATV , scuba diving and beach activities available too. There's also a local village nearby but nothing much to see there. Total trip from KK to Sutera Mantanani is about 2 hours plus.
